The video flex come in different varieties that allow connection to a TV or LCD projector, a computer, or both. The video flex devices that connect to the computer include software for capturing and saving images.

The video flex has a quick focus lens on it that allows for focusing. Magnification is gained by moving the lens closer to the object. Some units include a discovery scope kit that holds a specimen in front of the lens securely. The video flex can be purchased with or without the protective carrying case.
